Confirmation

confirm-dove“Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John, who had come down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit; for it had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 8:14-17)

Confirmation is the Sacrament of Initiation that perfects in us the grace of our Baptism. Confirmation gives us the strength and courage to do what we know is right and to spread and defend the teachings of Christ and the Church.

In the Hamilton Diocese, Confirmation preparation is performed in the elementary schools at Grade 7. At Blessed Sacrament, preparations are facilitated by our Pastoral Minister/School Liaison, Marilyn Koehler, in cooperation with our parish clerical staff.
