The Saint Vincent de Paul Society of Blessed Sacrament Parish receives calls for food and other assistance from those in need in our neighbourhood. We deliver food hampers and store vouchers to approximately 128 homes each month, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We also provide vouchers for furniture and clothing from the Thrift Store in Cambridge to those in need.
The Saint Vincent de Paul Society also organizes food drives, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Christmas food/toys hamper project involves many volunteers as we deliver special Christmas food hampers and children’s gifts to our clients around the community. The parish schools show their typical generosity in providing gifts for the children, via our Angel Tree program.
If you would like to make a donation to the St. Vincent de Paul please contact the parish office.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society also owns and operates Marillac Place, a shelter for homeless, young mothers. Please visit their website here to learn how this amazing group of people help our young mothers cope in their time of need.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society is always looking for new members to help with deliveries. If you would like to join or would like more information, please contact the parish office.
