NATIONAL WEEK OF FAMILY AND LIFE
The Hamilton Diocese joins Dioceses across Canada in celebrating the National Week of Family and Life from May 13-19th. The 2024 week draws its theme, “Love hopes all things,” from the words of St. Paul: “[Love] endures all things, trusts all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” (1 Corinthians 13:7). Catholic Bishops of Canada "encourage all of us, throughout this week, to be united in prayer, reflection, and action, demonstrating our active support for family and life. The virtue of hope, together with faith and love, allows us to foster deep and lasting relationships within our families, with others, and with God. Through God’s love, we see others with ‘the light of hope’ (AL,117), adopting the compassionate gaze of Christ and witnessing to his steadfast and merciful love." OUR SPIRITUAL MOTHER (Reflection)
"May will always be a special month, the month that the Church dedicates to the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of God and our mother. The month that begins today is just the right time to renew the love that all of us who are baptized ought to profess for the woman whom God chose — from eternity — to be the earthly mother of his Son, Jesus Christ, the word made flesh for the redemption of the human race.” [...] (to continue reading, click here) CHILDREN'S LITURGY

"To give parents a little boost in their vocation as overseers of their children’s education — as well as in the battle to keep their sanity — here’s a look at what the Bible has to say about instructing our kids. These inspired words can help us remember that instructing our children — whatever form that takes — is important to their development and happiness, setting them up to become mature and wise adults."
